Bhusan n Aryan in finnal
Shamyak Bhusan Bajracharya and Aryan Subedi breezed into the final of the U-10 boys’ singles category while Ira Raut overshadowed Karuna Gauchan in the longest rally of U-12 girls’ to parachute into the semi-finals of the First Borish Lissanevitch Memorial Junior Open Tennis Championship on Tuesday.
Bajracharya surpassed Bisrith Gurung 6-1, 6-2 and Subedi defeated Aryan Giri 6-3, 6-4 in straight sets while Raut toiled hard to get the better of Gauchan 8-6, 6-8, 7-5. He took 3:10 minutes to cap a famous win against the agile Gauchan.
Likewise, Mayanka Rana, Mahika Rana, and Any Mathema also booked their semi-finals berth in the U-12 girl’s singles category. In the other matches played at the court of All Nepal Lawn Tennis Association, Pranab Kayastha, Samgrakshyak Bhusan Bajracharya and Shatyap Ilim made it to the semi-finals in the U-12 boys’ singles.
In the U-14 boys’ singles, Abhaya Gauchan, Shakshyam Karki, Pranab Kayastha, and Avash Malla also marched to the semi-finals while Bibhuti Karki, Any Mathema, and Mayanka Rana in the girls.’ Milan Rokka and Ivanhoe Lissanevitch secured their berth in the semi-finals.
