To stay away from bloc meetings
The Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML have said they will not attend any "all-party interaction" that the Federal Democratic Republican Alliance (FDRA) plans to hold.Terming the formation of the alliance as unfortunate, NC and UML leaders said leaders of the ruling parties have adopted "double standards.Taking a swipe at the alliance,UML Vice Chairman Bamdev Gautam said, While Prachanda appeals for dialogue in the centre, he has repeatedly instructed his party cadres to physically assault supporters and cadres of the NC and the UML in the districts Gautam said. "The alliance has painted democratic parties like the NC and the UML as anti-federal forces. As such, UML will not participate in any programme organised by the alliance," he added.Gautam, however, said his party will attend meetings called by any individual party, including the UCPN (Maoist), to talk ways to end the protracted political impasse.NC Spokesperson Dilendra Prasad Badu said his party cannot trust the alliance and said the formation of the bloc is "a ploy" to prolong the tenure of the government.
